Pisces

Pisces closes the cycle: Mutable Water, ruled by Jupiter in the classical tradition and by Neptune in the modern one. As the last sign, Pisces carries something of all those that came before. There is a permeability in it that is its deepest gift and its greatest vulnerability at the same time.

Its core is compassion. Pisces feels what others feel with an immediacy that goes beyond ordinary empathy. That capacity to resonate with another person's experience gives it access to dimensions of the human condition that other signs barely graze.

Its light is creativity, artistic sensitivity, and a generosity without calculation that can be extraordinarily healing. Pisces creates spaces where people feel accepted without conditions, because it genuinely does not judge with the harshness of ordinary judgment.

Its shadow is dissolution. When its own boundaries are unclear, Pisces can lose the thread of its own desire among the needs of others, retreat from what hurts, or confuse idealization with real knowledge of another person.

In relationships, Pisces loves with a surrender that can be disorienting for its intensity and its gentleness at once. It needs to learn that taking care of itself is not abandoning the other, and that the disappointment it fears is also part of any love worth inhabiting.
