Conjunction
A conjunction forms when two planets occupy the same degree of the zodiac, or sit within about 8 degrees of each other. It is the most intense of all aspects: the two planetary principles fuse into a single point of energy, making it nearly impossible to separate the influence of one from the other. It is not inherently harmonious or tense; its quality depends entirely on which planets are involved. Two naturally compatible planets amplify each other; two planets of very different natures can produce an energy that is difficult to integrate. In a compatibility chart, a conjunction between the personal planets of two people marks an area of life where each exerts a direct and powerful influence on the other. It brings concentration, presence, and a tendency for that dimension of character to express itself with unusual strength. The typical orb is 6 to 8 degrees.
